Every year, the Joint ESAs Consumer Protection Day provides a forum for exchange and discussion on important and current cross-sectoral consumer issues. In October 2023 the ESAs will organise their 10th Consumer Protection Day together with the Spanish Securities Markets Regulator.

The Joint ESAs Consumer Protection Day aims at bringing together thought leaders of consumer/investor organisations, competent authorities, EU institutions as well as academics and key market participants, from all over the Union, to discuss issues of EU-wide relevance in the field of consumer protection.

This year, as we celebrate the initiative’s 10-year anniversary, the three ESAs are proud to team up with the Spanish Securities Market Commission, (CNMV - Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores) to organise the Joint-ESAs Consumer Protection Day 2023 in Madrid during the Spanish Presidency of the European Union.

The panel discussions will focus on the following consumer protection topics:

  • greenwashing
  • the regulation of crypto assets in the EU
  • cross-selling
